Alcohol

Noun

Alcohol is a colorless, flammable liquid that is the intoxicating constituent of wine, beer, spirits, and other drinks. It is also an industrial solvent and as fuel.

When ingested, alcohol can be a deadly intoxicant. Teens and adults alike are more likely to make life changing and negative choices while drinking alcohol. As a deadly intoxicant, alcohol has destroyed and ripped apart the lives of millions and yet it remains the drug/drink of choice for young adults nationwide.

When drunk, young men and women commit to and act out risky activities which they would normally never do. Driving under the influence, unprotected intercourse, fighting, and other unwanted consequences are more likely to occur while young adults drink.

Young men and women’s minds usually are not fully developed when they start drinking. This is highly problematic in young adults. If a young person’s brain is not fully developed, he/she is not able to fully process the consequences that may arise when becoming intoxicated.

If a young man or woman is dependent upon or addicted to drinking alcohol, they need to seek immediate treatment for serious addiction.
